There has always been something downright terrible about seeing a young girl dolled up with a spray tan, adult hair style, sexy clothing and whorish makeup. That’s what makes beauty pageants so disturbing. Photographer Susan Anderson has collected a great gallery of these images which can be viewed in brief on her website or in her book, High Glitz. If you’re looking to laugh, you should definately read The Tampon Trials, where an intrepid young man works to find the least absorbent and thus most safe (so he believes) tampon on the market. The results of this ill-advised experiment are simply priceless. Here’s a little quote:
This sounds strange, because for most products — paper towels, maxipads, adult diapers — absorbency is a good thing. But with tampons, ultra-absorbency can cause the rare but fatal Toxic Shock Syndrome, which is why doctors recommend that women use the least absorbent tampon they need.
Now, I’m a guy. I know nothing about these things. But this makes me worry for all the womens out there. We’ve got to cut down on tampon absorbency. As far as I’m concerned, these super-absorbent tampons are just waiting to explode.
For those of you, like myself, that are a little bit sad they’ll be missing the county fair this year, and thus, all of the fried goodness contained within, I highly recommend taking a peek at this blog post on Now That’s Nifty. I kept telling myself I wasn’t going to post any of the hideously tacky gold-plated cars on the list by bornrich.com. But then I saw it. How could anyone improve the time travel qualities of a DelLorean? By covering it in gold of course! Doc would be proud.
Or at least, some of them look yummy -like this one with bacon, avacado and sour cream. The corn on the cob surrounded by bacon, hot dogs, cheese sticks and ground beef before it is deepfried is another story. Anyway, they’re all worth taking a big meatly look at.
If you’re looking for something to kick start your bullemia, may I recomend the McNuggetini? This cocktail has barbeque sauce, vodka, a McDonald’s milk shake and all the nuggets you can dip. They say vodka goes with anything. Ladies, I think you just proved them wrong. Excuse me…I just threw up in my mouth a little.
Scientists have managed to make glowing bacteria and they actually have made pretty pictures with it in petri dishes. I believe this is the future of neon lighting in really skeezy bars. Why pay for the flourescent light when you can just colorize the bacteria that’s already hanging out at your bar and use it to promote your business? It’s five o’clock somewhere you partying bacteria.
