A new post on Time has a funny list of the stupidest shit ever pulled by PETA. Of course, they don’t mention some of the things that even PETA doesn’t want you to know about, like how they euthanize more animals than just about any shelter in the county and have said that people shouldn’t own pets.
A miniature pinscher was able to save a kitten after its five month old mother didn’t have the energy to keep delivering the baby during labor. The pup not only helped to extract the last kitten, but also cleaned it and its siblings and the mother.
“It is amazing. Ever since then she just sits there, checking to see the kittens are OK and the minute the mother gets up, she jumps in there to keep them warm. Nicky is a star with cats. Once when she had a litter of her own, she also allowed our kittens to drink from her.â€

You may have heard that today was declared to be no cats on the internet day. It is the policy of Rue The Day to protest stupid decisions like those. So with that in mind, I’d just like to take this opportunity to bring back the LOL Cat Alphabet. Without cats, there should be no internet.
Lovely Lady Bee over at InventorSpot has posted her collection of the best pet Halloween costumes of 2009. I think my fave is the doggy joker costume, which is strangely pimpish.
Damn the Japanese and their ability to do the most bizarre things on earth and end up looking all the more innocent and sweet for it. I mean, it’s mean to be riding on these little pigs who are not built to carry this type of weight, but when you see the girl laughing at the end, it’s hard to care. Thank you BoingBoing.

Speaking of weird taxidermy, The Gopher Hole Museum in Alberta, Canada features cute, dressed up taxidermied gophers. There are over 47 dioramas. Interestingly, PETA, the #1 group you love to hate, is responsible for really pushing the publicity of this great tourist destination through their excessive whinning and bitching. Gee PETA, maybe it would help if you renamed gophers like you tried to do with “sea kittens.”
