Finally a delightfully demented children’s dictionary to torture the innocent amongst us.

Of course, I would love to have a pirate room and I’m certainly not a youngster anymore.

Most kids fantasize about being a hero when they grow up and plenty of them even wear the costume, but few are fortunate enough to be added to the esteemed list of Growing Up Heroes photos.

Personally, I love kids books, but there are some topics that just shouldn’t be included in their subject matter. All Things Mundane took a great look at a few extreme examples to prove that just because something’s marked safe for kids to read doesn’t actually mean you’ll want to let your children anywhere near it.

Photographer Anna Skladmann has a great photo series of creepy, upper-class Russian kids who act as though they are all grown up. There is no light in their eyes or childhood left in their faces. The effect is eerie. View them if you dare…mwahahahaha.

I am beyond enamoured with this concept -creating artistic plush dolls based on kids drawings. Best of all, the pieces were then sold to the parents as a fundraiser for the kid’s school. I can only pray that they have awesome fundraisers like these when I actually have children.

Fact of the Day:
The “mystery flavor” Dum-Dum Pop is truly random. The Spangler Candy Company combines the last of their flavorings at the end of a production run to turn out lollipops of mixed (and mysterious) flavors. -Source
